Vester Energy corrected the meter class and tariff first, cutting the unit rate from 42p/kWh to 27p/kWh. Result: electricity costs down over 70%, more than £18,000 saved in year one, all reinvested into patient care.

Instead of selling excess power cheaply and buying it back expensively later, businesses can draw on their own stored energy during the hours when grid electricity costs the most. The result is a higher self-consumption rate, meaning more of what the solar installation generates gets used on-site.
